Nancy Brady To Speak In Watseka

Nancy Brady featured speaker

The Iroquois County Republican Women’s Club is hosting a fall luncheon on Oct 7, 2010, Noon – 1pm at the Elks in Watseka , Il . The featured speaker is Nancy Brady, wife of Senator Bill Brady who is running for Illinois Governor.

Nancy grew up in South Bend Indiana , as the seventh out of eight children. Her father was a professor at Notre Dame in the 1950's and 1980's. From 1955 - 1985 her father was a professional speaker on the national speaker's circuit.

She made her way to Bloomington IL by way of Illinois Wesleyan University , where she graduated in 1982 with an insurance degree. While attending Illinois Wesleyan, Nancy played on the tennis team, was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, and worked at the Illinois Wesleyan Career Center .

In 1982, after graduation, she & her husband, Bill (whom she calls "Billy") were married.

She worked at Country Financial for 10 years in the information systems division, later she "retired" when her husband ran for the office of State Representative. Nancy is currently the Business Manager for Brady Property Management.

Her volunteer activities have included:

- member of the Susan G. Komen board

- member of the foundation board of Bloomington Public Library

- member of YWCA board

She is the proud mother of 3 children: Katie 26; William 24; and Duncan 17.

Nancy enjoys playing tennis and golf in her spare time, along with some figure skating.
